Lured by the promise of a (non existent) cake stall, we ventured out to the East Farndon fete with Sally and a lady called Claire. Of course the moment we left the house it started raining, but undaunted we persisted with our plan and our first port of call was the 'Tombola'. Rose immediately won a game called 'Zingo Bingo' which she immediately gifted to a small child standing next to her. I won a bottle of Bucks Fizz. Perfect.
We perused the rather sparse stalls and after Rose had bought a couple of books we happened upon a stall offering bottle bags for £2. Every bag we chose had a bottle in it, amazingly, although we ended up with a fairly motley selection including an Italian Rose, some Organic Spanish White and some Mulled Wine. Perfect for Christmas...
I was determined to try the 'Welly Wanging' and ended up having about four goes at it. Unfortunately the wind was quite strong and this meant the wellies were veering sharp right about half way down the course. My fourth welly narrowly missed braining a lady with a camera who was standing to the side of the field, not very clever.
Finally we bought some raffle tickets and attempted to guess the number of balloons in the tractor, as yet we haven't found out whether we've won a £100 Joules voucher or a tour around LCFC. Probably neither.
