Christmas 2015

Not the actual turkey.... we had chicken.

After finishing work at 11AM, we headed out to The Grey Goose for a couple of drinks. It wasn't as busy as we expected in there, but the staff were hard at work laying the tables for the Christmas Day onslaught (at £100 a head!).
Christmas Day we opened our presents at home then went off to Rose's Mum's house, where we had a lovely (but very filling) chicken dinner, with magnificent roast potatoes. After an extended break we dug in to the Tesco Millionaires Pudding and the GU Lemon Cheesecake. The first was better than expected, in fact absolutely delicious, the second was okay, not as good as the small ones in the glass jars. Oh well, you win some you lose some!
I can't remember too much about Boxing Day, I spent quite a lot of time sorting out which CDs I was going to put on Amazon/eBay, but apart from that the only thing I remember is watching the new Michael McIntyre DVD 'Happy and Glorious' (something of a return to form after the disappointment of 'Showtime').
On the 27th we watched a bizarre Alfred Hitchcock film called 'The Trouble with Harry', and I also spent quite a while putting extra shelves up in the second bedroom, giving Rose more room for books, and reducing the amount of shelving in the third bedroom.
The 28th was a very short day, as we had to leave at 4pm to go to a family function.
The 29th was more productive, we got up early and ventured over to Northampton and managed to pick up two new duvet covers, curtains and lampshades for the bedroom. We also sorted out the curtains and wallpaper for the forthcoming renovation of the little bedroom.

The 2015 Christmas Chocolate Mountain!
