An unlikely place to visit, but there was an ulterior motive. The local Cash Converters had a pink dial TAG Heuer Alter Ego in the window for just £280. It showed signs of wear, but pink dial AEs are hard to find and the cheapest one on eBay at the time was over £440!
We left just after 7 and arrived just after 9, having a pretty good journey on the whole. We were too early for the CC, which didn't open until 9:30, so we had a look around and bought a few bits. Eventually the CC opened, a bit late, and we were in.
The watch was in fair condition, and Rose decided to offer them £250 but they were very reluctant and tried to use the prices on eBay to justify their asking price - despite most of the watches on their being ridiculously priced and in much better condition. After much to-ing and fro-ing they settled on £270 (but only after we threatened to walk out).

The shop was stacked with stuff, including a crappy looking rowing machine for £10, and a large selection of DVDs for 20p each (I bought Source Code- sweet!). The guy who served us was okay, but there was lots of 'I'll go and ask my manager'... the manager eventually appeared and suggested Rose might prefer the Gucci watch in the window, but she gave that predictably short shrift!
After we'd secured the watch we went to Wilkos and then went back to the car for a hot cross bun. Then we went to the Junction 32 outlet (via B&Q, where we bought a new kitchen tap and a rock with a light in it - I've always wanted one and they were only £4 - bargain, very bright as well).
The Junction 32 outlet was bigger than expected and one of the first places we went was Billabong where I scored a T-shirt for a bargain price of £11. Ernest Jones had a good selection of pre-owned TAG Heuers, including a Heuer Monaco, and I also bought an Adidas rucksack, while Rose bought two pairs of Reeboks and some books in The Works.
After struggling to get wifi on my phone (as usual) so that we could get the postcode for the York Outlet (which we hadn't realised was only about thirty minutes way) we headed back to the car for lunch and then took off for York.
We hadn't been to the York outlet for quite a while, but I knew there was a TAG Heuer outlet there and we went in and I tried on a couple of Grand Carreras and an Aquaracer with a gold bezel. We looked round the whole thing and in one of the windows there was a mannequin that looked suspiciously human. As we stared through the glass trying to work out if she was real or not (her jewellery was wobbling and Rose noticed the veins in her feet) she slowly turned her head. Freaky! :)
All in all it was a very enjoyable day and we had a load of stuff to unload when we finally got home, which I really wasn't expecting at all.
