SHOPPING: Meadowhall (Sheffield)
We last visited Meadowhall in February this year, just a few weeks before the world went to shit and we all had to get used to spending a lot of time at home. So it was nice to finally head up the motorway and go do something. Of course we had to wear masks, sanitize our hands, follow arrows everywhere and stand outside shops with 'RED' signs on the wall (I really didn't think these signs would be manually operated and magnetic... how ridiculous is that?), but it was a fun day all the same.
We didn't get off to the best of starts though, we made a bee-line for Hotel Chocolat, determined to stock up on Caramarvellous slabs (HC's website is still operating in a totally bogus manner meaning that you can only buy gift sets, and a very limited selection at that!). Unfortunately we found barely any slabs and no Caramarvellous, furthermore the woman in the shop reckoned that they're not just out of stock, it's been discontinued.
So we stabbed the bitch and left her to die....
Only joking, we (well Rose) chuntered at her a bit and then we bought some other stuff and left.
We popped into Goldsmiths so that Rose could get her new watch sized and then had a troll around Debenhams. We bought a soap dispenser (soooo exciting), the only one they had... seriously why is stock so limited in shops these days? Then searched in vain for a flexible spatula suitable for flipping fried eggs.
The search continued in Lakeland Plastics, but again to no avail. I did however get a couple of egg moulds in Dunelm on the way home, where we also picked up some new waste paper bins. What is the world coming to when you have to click and collect a basic 'leather' bin?
Obviously I had to visit the TAG Heuer boutique and check out as many watches as I could since I haven't been in a jewellers since lockdown started. We also popped into Swarovski and Victoria's Secret (while it's still about), and then we went back to the car and headed off to Dunelm and then down the M1 back home.
