A New Arrival!

Following the devastating demise of our beloved Mr Biver, Ming (the Merciless) was clearly in need of a companion and so we began hunting for a successor. This proved rather difficult as due to lockdown people seem to be adopting animals like crazy and our trip to 'Nanna' proved to be fruitless.

Looking around on the internet turned up very little, until I stumbled across a place called 'Redgate Farm' situated near Markfield on the A511 (Junction 22 of the M1). I completed their pet adoption form and received a phone call advising that they had a cat they thought would be perfect for us, called 'Erin'.

We went to visit on Saturday and fell in love with her, but as we were going out that night it was clearly better to return the next day and take her home then. She's quite timid and she spent quite a lot of Sunday behind the sofa. However, later in the day she started to make little forays out and even went upstairs for a while.

Aside from some sniffing, Ming seemed spectacularly unbothered, so the anticipated 'bother' was pretty much avoided. Hopefully they will get used to each other over the next few days and hopefully they might start playing together eventually.

Ming Gets a New Toy Cactus!

Picked up a 'Cosmic Catnip' Cactus from Pets at Home in Corby yesterday. Ming went absolutely nuts with it for about 90 minutes, although subsequently her interest has waned a bit. But she still seems to keep cuddling up to it when she's sleeping and sniffing it when she's awake.

While we were shopping, this bird sat on, and subsequently crapped down my car mirror.
