MEAL OUT: The Bewicke Arms (Hallaton)

A long drive in the pissing rain to this place, but once there it was pretty good. I had a very nice pie and some excellent chips, while Rose had scampi (again) and then we shared a Sticky Toffee Pudding, which was very nice (albeit not as epic as the one we had two weeks before at the Langton Arms). Afterwards we journeyed back through the downpour to Lee and Su's house to see Leicester City destroy Southampton 9-0 on the TV and then watched England beat New Zealand in the Rugby World Cup semi-finals in Japan the next morning.

After inspecting the building works at Wingfield House, we travelled home, avoiding some rather hefty puddles and found the Fleckney trough full and the road next to it under 2-3" of water. Serious rainfall last night!

MEAL OUT: The Langton Arms, Church Langton

Another trip to the Langton Arms, this time to celebrate my 50th birthday. The two of us plus our Mums all plumped for the Scampi again (seeing as it was so nice last time) while Rose, Sally and I all tucked into a paving slab of Sticky Toffee Pudding for afters and Mum had the crumble. Bloody nice it was too, will definitely back there again before long.

MEAL OUT: The Tollemarche Arms (Harrington)

The Tollemache Arms was the chosen venue for this years Wedding Anniversary meal out, and very nice it was too. Both of us had the half-chicken followed by the 'Perfect' Sticky Toffee Pudding with salted caramel ice cream. I can't argue with the description, it was pretty perfect! It's a nice place, pity it's so far away... but a lot nearer than Lincoln (which was a slightly silly idea I had).
