After much deliberation, our first port of call today as we walked through London in freezing temperatures and snow, was the Avery Row branch of Watchfinder where I was to collect my new TAG Heuer CAF7013. On the way we popped into Swarovski, where we found the usual mix of nice crystal jewellery and hideous abominations...
Picking up the watch was a fairly simple matter and afterwards we walked down Bond Street until we came to the back of the Burlington Arcade. We walked through there, stopping to look at the Hublots and several other boutiques and eventually emerged onto Piccadilly where we crossed the road and headed into Richoux for a Richoux Burger. Lovely!
After our burger, we wandered down to the Green Park tube and took ourselves off to the Design Museum where we had booked tickets to see the Ferrari exhibition 'Under the Skin'. This was pretty good overall, it only took about 50 mins to look around which is maybe a little short for £18, but it was interesting and there was some nice cars on display including a clay model (half finished) of a Ferrari J50 which is limited to ten pieces, pretty exclusive!
After the exhibition, we walked up through Holland Park and caught the tube back to Bond Street and then walked to Regent Street, stopping off at the Slug and Lettuce. It was quite busy in there (it was St Patrick's Day - which for some reason we celebrate far more vociferously than St George's day) but we managed to get a seat upstairs.
We walked down to Kate Spade, which had rather too many clothes in it and not enough bags this time, and then made our way back to Richoux again.... this time for a piece of cake! This time a rather odd lady came and sat next to us and started talking to herself before throwing her handbag across the room and generally being a bit odd. We avoided making eye contact and ate our cakes.
Finally we caught the tube to Islington and walked through the snow once more to the Academy where we saw Massive Ego play a thirty minute set. They were really good, it's just a shame they couldn't have played a few more songs... but as support to Covenant (who we couldn't care less about) they got what they got I guess.
All in all it was a jolly good day, very tiring of course, and we could have done without the snow, but overall a great day.
